2010 Creative Conversation

The Arts in Society, Education, Legislation, and the Economy. Where do you stand?
Wednesday, October 27, 5pm to 8 pm
Pittsburgh Opera, 2425 Liberty Avenue, Strip District

Join the Pittsburgh Emerging Arts Leaders for an evening with David Cutler (Duquesne University), Michele de la Reza (Attack Theatre), Representative Chelsa Wagner (PA House District 22) and Moderator David Seals (Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council) for a lively discussion and debate asking these simple questions: What’s the economic benefit of the arts? How do I advocate for the arts? Why should the arts be a part of my education? The conversation will conclude with a creative experience facilitated by Pittsburgh Playback Theatre that will engage the audience in a guided reflection on the evening’s discussion.

This event is hosted by the Pittsburgh Emerging Arts Leaders Network, whose goal is to strengthen Pittsburgh’s cultural workforce by connecting emerging arts managers with skill-building and leadership development resources. “Creative Conversations” are local gatherings across the country coordinated by Americans for the Arts, designed to elevate the profile of the arts in America during National Arts & Humanities Month every October.
